Product Marketing Manager – Palo Alto, CA

Location: Palo Alto, CA
The Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing messaging and content to support Pica8’s Software Defined Networking (SDN) and white-box vision, and how it can be used to enable a new, open era of networking. This position reports to the VP of Product Management.
Responsibilities:
  • Create written content for external use, in various formats, including PowerPoint presentations, white papers, ROI and TCO tools, data sheets, blogs, videos, webinars, and other formats as needed
  • Create internal presentations and other materials, including competitive analysis, positioning and marketing guides
  • Create similar materials for use by partners
  • Take responsibility for company website
  • Drive social media strategies and actions
  • See the 'big picture' and articulate internally and externally how the products provide value to customers
  • Articulate product capabilities and value proposition to customers in both technical and business voices.
  • Engage Pica8 in industry forums, including shows and conferences, standards bodies, testing labs, press and analyst meetings
  • Assist the field teams in crafting collateral to highlight Pica8’s competitive differentiation and selling strategies
  • Be a driver for change – bringing new ideas and approaches to Pica8’s marketing efforts
Requirements:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with PowerPoint and other office productivity tools and creative platforms
  • Skilled at working with vendors to quickly and cost effectively produce marketing materials
  • Ability to leverage marketing items to drive lead generation programs
  • Experienced with websites and social media
  • Solid familiarity with routing and switching products and protocols, including how network architects leverage these technologies
  • Relevant knowledge including Public / Private Cloud, SDN, OpenFlow, network virtualization, security
  • Know how to work with industry forums, shows, conferences, and press and analysts
  • Able to coordinate across various internal groups and functional teams
  • Performs tasks with little to no supervision
  • A strong desire to disrupt the status quo with innovative messages
Education and Experience:
  • BS/BA or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Worked within the Networking industry
  • Produced marketing materials in multiple formats
  • Worked with outside resources to complete marketing materials
  • Represented a vendor in various industry groups
  • 5+ years in the industry with related experience
