James Liao leads strategy and growth efforts for Pica8® as it shapes the SDN space. He has a proven track record in networking product innovation and development: before founding Pica8, James led product strategy for switching and data center products at original device manufacturer Quanta. He also built world-class engineering teams at both Woven Systems and 3UP Systems. Born in Taiwan, James holds an MS in Computer Science from Stanford University.
Vice President of Business Development
Niraj Jain leads business development strategy for Pica8. He is a business strategy expert with more than 15 years of experience in channel development, solutions/ecosystem partnerships, and go-to-market strategy. He comes to Pica8 with business development experience from positions with Vocera Communications, Mediated Systems, SAN Valley Systems, and 3Com. He holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and Virginia Tech respectively, and has performed doctoral studies in Computer Networking at Columbia University.
Vice President of Product Management and Marketing
Dan Tuchler heads product management for Pica8. He has a very strong background in networking and data center computing. He has helped companies transition from startup phase to established, world-class competitors. Prior to joining Pica8, Dan held key product management and executive positions at successful startups such as Alteon Websystems (acquired by Nortel), Blade Network Technologies (acquired by IBM), Force10 Networks (acquired by Dell), Mellanox Technologies and Vyatta (acquired by Brocade). He holds a BSEE degree from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Boston University.
Lin Du, Ph.D.
Vice President of Engineering and Co-Founder
Lin Du leads our design center in Beijing, China, and plays a pivotal role in the ongoing design and implementation of Pica8’s hardware-agnostic, switching operating system. He founded Pica8 after serving as a director at Woven Systems, where he built the engineering team at Woven’s Beijing development center. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Chinese Academy of Science, and a BS and MS in Computer Software Engineering from Chongqing University.
