WHAT WE COLLECT – AND WHY
What we collect from you completely depends on how you decide to use our website and/or interact with any electronic outreach you may receive from us. If you simply choose to browse our website, we will merely collect the minimum information set from your connected electronic device that is necessary to enable us to allow you to browse our website. In this case you will not need to submit any additional personal information to us at all. But in cases where you do elect to provide us with such personal information — such as when you e-mail us or fill out certain forms on our website or in promotional outreach to you, you understand — and agree — that we are then free to use this volunteered personally identifiable information to provide you with one or all of our services and/or products.
And, since we are all about trying to improve ourselves at all times, our systems may also gather certain technical data about your visit so that we can better understand how our site is being used by our visitors.
WHAT DO WE DO WITH WHAT WE COLLECT?
As e-mail still does much of the heavy lifting in on-line business, if you elect to contact us by e-mail, we will use reasonable efforts to keep your contact information private though, OBVIOUSLY, we may need to use it to respond to your message. Also, by sending us e-mail, you understand and agree that you are providing Pica8 with a license to use any content information in your email (except for your contact details) in our business endeavors.
WHAT ABOUT INFORMATION WE ACTUALLY ASK YOU FOR?
We routinely ask visitors to our website for various types of personal information, usually via forms on the site, including, for example, registering for events; downloading certain documents and/or videos; joining various mailing lists; becoming a business or technology partner; and/or requesting information about product sales. The personal information you choose to fill in on these forms — typically your name, company name, and various types of contact information — may be used by Pica8 to fulfill the purpose of a given form. At times, we may also pool visitor responses for anonymous assessment of their collective preferences so that we can tailor site content to better match the needs of our overall audience. Rest assured, if you are asked for your e-mail address in any form on our website, we will not automatically add it to any mailing list unless we have asked for permission to do so first.
HOW ABOUT THE DATA WE AUTOMATICALLY COLLECT?
At times Pica8 may elect to store and use information automatically collected by our system –such as IP addresses, what kind of browsers our viewers are using, and a record of the pages actually viewed on our site – to help us understand how we can make our site more relevant to our viewers. We may also choose to share this data, in anonymized aggregate form, with third-party companies that we contract with to help us execute our business strategies.
At times, the Pica8 website will include links to other sites as well as include 3rd-party cookies on some of the pages. Third-party sites and cookies may collect information from you as well, and these entities will have their own privacy policies and practices. For more information about this topic please contact us at email@example.com.
SOME WORDS ABOUT GDPR – THE EU GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION
When you voluntarily fill out our website forms as a European Union citizen, we will ask you to “opt-in” to continue to receive on-going communications from us. We sincerely hope that you do so as our outreach frequency is very limited and should be considered “discrete” rather than “promiscuous.” You will also always have the right to be forgotten (see section on managing your own privacy below). Additionally, as a matter of course, we are constantly working with our business partners to make sure that they, too, are in compliance with GDPR rules. Lastly, in the unlikely event that Pica8 suffers a data breach, we agree to notify any affected EU contacts within the 72-hour window mandated by the GDPR rules.
CHANGE OF CONTROL
In order to promote continuity of services and support, if, at any point, Pica8 has a change of control and is either sold, acquired, or merged with another company, we may elect to transfer the information you have shared with us to the successor company/entity. If this situation does occur, then the disposition of the repository of transferred data will be governed solely by the privacy practices of the successor company.
YOU CAN MANAGE YOUR OWN PRIVACY
You may, at any time, request Pica8 to delete/modify your personal information by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org. While such deleted information may remain in our database as a result of routine system back-ups, we will no longer use that information.
WHEN YOU LEAVE THE PICA8 WEBSITE
At times, the Pica8 website may contain links to external sites. Clearly, these third-party sites may also collect information about you, and they are likely to operate according to a different set of privacy practices. If you have any questions about this, please contact email@example.com
If you have any other questions about Pica8’s privacy policies, we encourage you to contact us via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. www.pica8.com is wholly owned and operated by Pica8, Inc.
